COMING UP!
- We will start the Brisbane Roda this thursday 2nd of Feb right at 7pm and finish at 8pm. I have to leave early for a show with Brazilian band http://www.facebook.com/#!/Coisalindaband at Glass Bar in the valley. Please come along after the roda for our traditional thurs night drinks, free entry!
- Saturday 11th of Feb is the Brazilian Carnaval party at Rio Rhythmics ttp://riorhythmics.blogspot.com/2012/01/rio-carnival-2012.html We will be doing a Capoeira roda at 8:40pm 126 Boundary St West End. Come along in uniform to help put on another great show and then stay for our caranval parade outside on Boundary Street! Its always lots of fun, hope to see you all there.
- Sunday 19th of February will be our first Xango Group Open roda at the Gold Coast, Justins Park Burleigh Heads. From 11am, followed by BBQ (BYO). The roda and BBQ is also a farewell to Cantor who will be returning to Singapore after a long stay with us here in Australia. Lets all be there and kick start our monthly group rodas for 2012. If bad weather is still lurking around we will host the Roda at the Gold Coast Academy
- Sunday March 18th is Brisbane's turn to host our Group Roda and we will have it at the bottom of Kangaroo Poing Cliffs followed also by BBQ (BYO). Roda will start 1pm. Everyone welcome!
- Easter weekend 6, 7,8 of April we will be planning a getaway, camping trip for whoever is interested in a relaxing time away from the city, location to be announced, Suggestions welcome :)
- June 1, 2 and 3 will be the dates for our Capoeira training camp. Last year we had the all day training but this year we will be back to having a whole weekend! We will be bringing guest teachers to host workshops over the weekend, morning, afternoon and evening, covering all the different aspects of Capoeira. lots of rodas, music and training. Location to be confirmed and more details will be available soon. Open to everyone! Put in your diary!
- Our first Xango Brazil training trip is scheduled for July, leaving Australia on the 1st and returning on the 23. We will be visiting traditional Masters and training with different schools in Rio, Salvador and finishing in Goiania where Contra-Mestre Grilo will be hosting his Capoeira grading and workshops. Over 3 weeks we will get to experience lots of Capoeira and play in many rodas. More detailed schedules and prices available soon. We want to take a small group over so If you are interested please talk to Mestre Luizinho or Contra-Mestre Caracol.
- Our 2nd Xango Capoeira Grading Festival will happen a bit later this year, from the 3rd to the 9th of December. Again we will be having a week full of workshops with guest masters and teachers, many rodas and the grading on the weekend. More details coming soon.
